Description

Folio Range: [seq 233-244; folios 83-87].

Case Reference: Edward Hawtaine, John Ryland, 6 March 1646.

Description: [seq 235; folio 83] Petition [6 March 1646] of Edward Hawtaine, Fellow of Magdalen College, Oxford, that he be granted an allowance equal to his fellowship out of the profits from sequestrated College lands in Sussex, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, because, having removed himself from Oxford out of loyalty to the Parliamentary cause, he is unable to receive his stipend.

[seq 237; folio 84] Certificate stating that Hawtaine, out of affection for Parliament, left Oxford on the approach of the King's army and has resided in London ever since. Signed: John D'oyly, Thomas Hussy, Henry Hurst.

[seq 239; folio 85] Affidavit of Richard Turner, 4 October 1647.

[seq 241; folio 86] Order, 4 December 1646, to the Sussex committee to obey the earlier order concerning the allowances of Edward Houghton [Hawtaine] and John Nyland, Fellows of Magdalen College, Oxford.

[seq 243; folio 87] Petition [15 July 1647] of Edward Hawtine and John Riland, Fellows of Magdalen College, Oxford, that the Sussex committee be ordered to obey earlier orders.
