Folios 487-491. Pacific Islands: code 31, file 7834, paper 18972.

Sent by Sir Francis Bertie, the British Embassy, Paris, 31/05/1906.

Transmits undated Note Verbale from French Government stating that no decision had as yet been reached respecting proposed establishment of penal settlement at Tahiti; also reply of 30 May which pointed out proximity of Cook islands, which now form an integral part of colony of New Zealand to French Government.
