Richard Beach, Chatham Dock. He has examined the Boatswain and Gunner of the Henrietta. The Carpenter at the time of the voyage has since died. He is also enclosing the report from the master Shipwright. He will send up some decayed bolts and other items with the Little London. The iron work is very bad. Phineas Pett, Robert Lee, John Attewell and Robert Small testify that they found the Henrietta's rudder irons very decayed. James Edwards, Boatswain and John Mills, Gunner, testify that during the voyage from Tunis to Tripoli where they were due to land several Turks, the rudder came out of the irons which were very decayed. Sir John Narborough and they felt this was due to corrosion. The Carpenters made the rudder fast Flemish fashion. After they came to Malta about 3 years ago they made alterations and then fixed it with more substantial irons at Livorno.
