Commissioner Sir Richard Beach, Chatham. The Monmouth's yard will be sent on this Tide. The Purveyor has not been able to view Mr Mason's timber as Mr Mason is ill. Asks for the Storekeeper to be sent back to sign bills. Receipt of order regarding Captain Nugent. Is pleased that the servants' allowance is to be methodized. The Defiance's Boatswain lost his harbour boat as well as damaging the guard pinnace so he thinks it right that he pay for them. Receipt of orders regarding Ropemakers. Mr Sliter is very ill. Yesterday, the Dunkirk and the Happy Return sailed. Asks for some lignum vitae for staves. Is sending a report of Sir Charles Bickerstaffe's timber and of Mr Wybourne's timber. Asks whether the Henrietta is to be docked when the Charles is launched on the next Spring Tide. He has sent the Monmouth's mainyard by the Jemmy and asked her to bring back men who carried the Happy Return about. Captain Wright has the Little London and should be ordered to take the rest of the men.
