Commissioner Sir Richard Beach, Chatham. The Monmouth's mast was set in her in 1673 when he commanded her and after him Sir Robert Robinson. The mast appeared sound then and he believes that its loss was due to the tautness of the shrouds. They have a new mast in hand. They are still awaiting delivery of kersey for Captain Russell's cabin. They have kept the guard boat's pinnace till yesterday and have returned her so broken that she must be rebuilt. He will stop the Boatswain's wages for what is due for the damage. They have received no orders for the Dunkirk. Mr Ruffhead is in London and he asks the Board to speak to him about iron works made out of the yard.
