Commissioner Sir Richard Beach, Chatham. Is sending a letter from Captain Kirk regarding the Monmouth's mast. He has ordered a new one to be made but they lack timber for cheeks for it on the old account. He has also given orders for making yards for the Defiance. Receipt of orders regarding the Happy Return and the Princess. Mr Page is delivering his plank. He has a good parcel of timber for the 1st rate which can easily be delivered to Chatham. Is sending a tender from Mr Mason for timber. He has made him an offer which was refused. He asks that his bill for timber for repairs which is not yet paid may be settled. The Storekeeper is at Greenwich and this causes delays in signing bills. The Storekeeper's affairs are managed by Mr Hanch and he asks that he may be authorized to sign the bills until the Storekeeper returns.
