Commissioner Sir Richard Beach, Chatham. The 4 inch plank for the St Andrew has still not arrived. Mr Page's plank has arrived in a hoy from Maldon. Is sending a contract made with Mr Attwell for 6 longboats. They need barges and pinnaces but have nowhere to repair them. Mr Attwell can make some. He has just received a letter not to contract with Mr Attewell for boats. On the 26th he was ordered to contract for boats which would be needed by the 15 ships which are the boats in the enclosed contract. This afternoon the Monmouth, the Antelope and the Ruby sailed and within a day or two the Dunkirk, the Happy Return and the Princess should be ready. He has ordered Captain Kirk with the Ruby to stop at Blackwall and the Jenny and the Little London to wait on them to bring back men and the boats to be returned in the Horseboat when they are no longer required.
