Captain W Botham, the Roebuck, Sheerness. Receipt of petition to discharge Henry Browne, Allex Elkes and Samuel Platt, who claim to have been pressed from their wherries. They were in fact taken from colliers where they were hired men. When the ship was ashore at Sheerness they attempted to run away which they would not have done had they been free watermen. Asks for direction.
