War Relief Fund: transmits draft for £500 subscribed by Europeans and 'natives' to the Mansion House fund to assist the wives, widows and orphans of soldiers and sailors fighting in South Africa; among these contributors are several 'Native' Kings and Chiefs; this sum is in addition to the £100 already contributed by the Aborigines Rights Protection Society; reports the sense of loyalty and patriotism that has been evoked in all classes by the war in the Gold Coast, especially among the indigenous population.
