Treasury
Public Services was created in 1994 and took the original name of the business unit which had existed from 1986 to 1988 covering similar functions. It was created after the dissolution of the previous Deputy Chief Accountancy Adviser and Director of Government Accountancy Services Management Unit with had exisited to 1993 and had contained a Public Services Group.
The 1994 version of Public Services was promoted to the same Directorate level as the previous Management Unit and comprised the following business units: Social Services and Territorial Departments Group; Local Government Group; Procurement Group; and the Home and Legal Group.
Public Services was dissolved in 1995 and replaced by the Spending Directorate which included functional provisions for public services.
