Description
Registry Number: UE 5674/86/77. Telegram from ACRABIT [Allied Commission for Austria [British Element]] at the British Embassy in Vienna to the Foreign Office about reparation deliveries to Austria, dated 20 November 1945. The telegram reports that the public administrator of Boehler has received information that the Boehler works at Duesseldorf are on the reparations list and have been inspected by the French and the Russians. The telegrams asks that the reparations question in relation to the Boehler works plant should be reserved until the question of Austrian assets in Germany is finally settled. The information on the Boehler works was unofficial and other ex-Austrian assets may be similarly scheduled for reparations. Asks that dismantling of such plants is delayed until the question is settled and that they are informed of the present position on all such ex-Austrian property. Correspondence from the Treasury and the Foreign Office to Mr Turner at the Trading with the Enemy Department relating to this matter, dated 23 - 28 November 1945. Further includes a draft reply to the British Embassy in Vienna, addressing the questions raised in Acabrit's telegram, undated.
