Description
Foreign Office Minute by Sir A Cadogan regarding a note from Jonkheer E Michiels van Verduynen, Dutch Ambassador, regarding restitution of Dutch property looted by Germans and the process of requisitioning looted Dutch property in the British zone. The Ambassador mentions that his government is becoming increasingly concerned and would be grateful to learn what instructions have been issued. He also provides a second enclosure regarding the inspection by Allied experts of equipment belonging to Dutch owned enterprises in Germany, asking that instructions should be given to ensure that Dutch rights are not infringed. Includes a reply by Mr Coulson at the Foreign Office to the Ambassador addressing the issues raised in his letter, dated 14 November 1945. Correspondence between the British Embassy in The Hague and the Foreign Office about Dutch industrial interests in Germany, dated 20 November 1945 - 30 January 1946.
