Description
Memorandum about instances of damage to British interests in countries under Russian control and influence, dated 12 September 1945. The Foreign Office view is that His Majesty's Government would not justify the withholding of West German reparation deliveries from Russia, but that the matter should be taken up vigorously. It is likely that this action would have the support of the United States and France. The Memorandum suggests lines on which action should be taken. A copy of the Memorandum was sent to Mr Gregory at the Trading with the Enemy Department, dated 12 September 1945. Letter from Mr Gregory to Mr Coulson at the Foreign Office commenting on the Memorandum, dated 13 September.
