Description
Note verbale [in French] from the French Embassy proposing that the French government be permitted to send, in line with the Belgian, Dutch and Luxemburg governments, investigators into Germany and Austria for the purpose of identifying and arranging the restoration of property looted from France by the Germans, dated 14 August 1945. Note by Mr Coulson at the Foreign Office on a meeting with the Belgian Counsellor dealing with questions relating to Belgian reparations and restitution, dated 21 August 1945. Letter from Mr Coulson to Jonkheer E Michiels van Verduynen, Ambassador to The Netherlands, Monsieur René Massigli, Ambassador to France, and Baron de Cartier de Marchienne, Ambassador to Belgium, on the question of restitution to their respective countries, dated 24 August 1945. Further includes a letter relating to this matter, circulated to the British Embassies in Brussels, The Hague, Moscow and Washington, dated 23 August 1945.
