The Agriculture Division was created in 1981 during the HM Treasury reorganisation of that year. It was created under the Industry, Agriculture and Employment Group and thereunder the Domestic Economy Sector and successors.
The FF prefix, created in 1981, denotes the registry theme 'Fisheries and Forestry'. AF prefix, which succeeded FF prefix in 1988, denotes the registry theme 'Agriculture and Food'.
