The Economic Briefing Division was created in the 1981 Treasury reorganisation. This record series was a continuation of firstly EB (Economic Briefing Division) and then ES (Economic Statistics). It was closed in 1990 with its business being transferred to TEBA (Treasury Economic Briefing).
