The Management Accounting and Purchasing Policy Division was created in the 1981 reorganisation of HM Treasury.
In 1983 the Group name changed to Expenditure Support Group and the function transferred to the Accountancy, Finance and Audit Division.
In 1984 the Expenditure Support Group changed its title to Accountancy Advice Group.
