On the rejection of its Brentford Extension bill in 1852, the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway Company sponsored the London and Mid Western Railway Bill in 1853. This bill would have incorporated the London and Mid Western Railway Company and authorised it to construct a railway between Oxford and Brentford via Wycombe and Uxbridge with a branch to the London and North Western Railway at Willesden. Like the Brentford Extension bills, this bill faced strong opposition and failed to get through parliament.
