The responsibilities of the Olympic Lottery Distributor Board were set out in the letters of appointment issued by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). The Board was designated a corporate entity for ensuring that the Distributor provides proper, effective, timely and expedient distribution of funds to Olympic projects, services and functions; deciding on grant applications from the Olympic Delivery Authority and other bodies, as appropriate; keeping under review compliance by the Olympic Delivery Authority (and any other recipient of grant) with the terms and conditions of any Grant Memorandum or other form of agreement; ensuring, with other public funding bodies, the effective co-ordination of the funding streams for the Olympic Games; ensuring that in the exercise of its functions, the Distributor has due regard to the Olympic Charter and the requirements of the Host City Contract; ensuring that efficient and effective systems are in place for the application, assessment and management of grants; ensuring the overall operation and effective governance of the Distributor; liaising as necessary with the National Lottery Commission, the Lottery operator and other Lottery distributors.
