A refugee from Czechoslovakia in 1939 who had been a communist in Germany, SZECZINOWSKI was interned here as an alien and released in 1941 becoming an active member of the Czech Refugee Trust Fund. After the war he returned to East Germany functioning as Deputy Director of the Institute for Contemporary History
