During the period covered by these records this company (originally incorporated as the Metropolitan District Electric Traction Company) controlled the Metropolitan District, the Central London, the City and South London and London Electric Railways. London Electric Railways was itself an operating division of the company, controlling the Baker Street and Waterloo, the Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead, and the Great Northern Piccadilly and Brompton Railways.
