First Act obtained 28th Mar 1794 (34 Geo III, cap.38), forming "Company of Proprietors of Warwick and Braunston Canal Navigation". Further Act 14th May 1796 authorised alteration of course of canal and change of name of Company to that of "Company of Proprietors of Warwick and Napton Navigation". Undertaking acquired by Grand Union Canal Company by act of 1928.
