Incorporated by act of 3rd June 1793 (33 Geo III, cap.113) as "Company of Proprietors of Shrewsbury Canal Navigation".
Navigation was sold to Ellesmere and Chester Canal Company and vested by "Shropshire Union Railways and Canal Shrewsbury and Stafford Railway Act 3rd August 1846" (Section 39) in Shropshire Union Railways & Canal Company as from passing of act.
