First Act passed 13th July 1812, forming "Company of Proprietors of Regent's Canal". Second Act obtained 1813. Third Act 1816. Fourth Act 1819. Fifth Act 1821.

By act of 1882, incorporated as "Regent Canal City and Docks Railway Company". Name changed to "North Metropolitan Railway and Canal Company" in 1892, to "Regent's Canal and Dock Company" in 1900 and became part of "Grand Union Canal Company" on 1st January 1929.
