This committee was set up under the Llynvi Valley and Ogmore Valley railway companies Act 1864 for maintenance and management of Porthcawl Harbour, appointed pursuant to Llynvi Valley and Ogmore Valley railway companies' Act 1864. Committee held its first meeting on 20th July 1864 and last recorded meeting was held on 3rd July 1866.
Llynvi Valley and Ogmore Valley railway companies were amalgamated as Llynvi & Ogmore Railway Company by Llynvi & Ogmore Railway Act 28th June 1866, and Llynvi & Ogmore Railway Company was amalgamated with Great Western Railway Company as from 1st July 1883 by Great Western and Llynvi & Ogmore Railways Amalgamation Act 29th June 1883.
