Minutes and reports of the Humber Conservancy Commissioners.
Minutes and reports of the Humber Conservancy Commissioners.
The Commissioners were originally incorporated under Humber Conservancy Act 1852. Although several Acts were later passed, their act of 2nd August 1907 (7 Ed.VII, cap.97) finally appointed, by Clause 9, a Board of 37 Commissioners. Of these commissioners one was appointed from each of following companies:- North Eastern Railway, Hull and Barnsley Railway, Great Central Railway, Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, and Undertakers of Aire and Calder Canal.
Under Railways Act 1921, North Eastern Railway, Hull and Barnsley Railway and Great Central railway companies became part of London and North Eastern Railway Company, and Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company became part of London Midland and Scottish Railway Company.
Under Transport Act 1947, London and North Eastern and London Midland and Scottish railway companies, and Aire and Calder Canal Company were vested in British Transport Commission.
Note: Humber Conservancy Commissioners did not pass to British Transport Commission but copy minutes of their meetings are held by Commission by virtue of fact that representatives of the mentioned companies served on Board of Commissioners.
