Incorporated as "Huddersfield Canal Company" under act of 4th April 1794 (34 Geo III, cap.53).
By virtue of Huddersfield and Manchester Railway and Canal Act of 21st July 1845, Huddersfield Canal Company was united, consolidated and incorporated with "Huddersfield and Manchester Railway and Canal Company" which company by act of 9th July 1847 was vested in London and North Western Railway Company.
