Prisoner name: Addin Grimley.

Prisoner age: 42.

Court and date of trial: Stafford Lent Assizes [Staffordshire] 1828.

Crime: Burglary - robbery of ducks etc property of Mrs Ann Wellington of Pipe, Staffordshire on 6 February 1828.

Initial sentence: Death commuted to transportation for life.

Gaoler's report: Bad character, notorious poacher.

Annotated: Nil 2 May 1828.

Petitioner(s): 86 people of Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire.

Grounds for clemency: He is 'sensible of enormity of crime'; is truly penitent; wishes to make amends for his crime; first offence.
