Recommendation for the mitigation of sentence for selected prisoners on board Justitia hulk.
Convict details: John Harris, aged 21, convicted at Wells [Somerset] on 13 January 1823 of stealing brushes and sentenced to seven years transportation.
Convict details: William Dalton [name crossed through; rejected J H Capper] convicted at London Sessions on 15 January 1823 of inciting Worman to commit a robbery; initial sentence seven years' transportation.
Recommendation list submitted by: Robert Smith, Captain, John Bizley, First Mate and Samuel Watson, Chaplain. Recommended by John H Capper, Superintendent.
Grounds for clemency: Good behaviour on the hulk.
Annotated: Free pardon prepared February 1827.
