Description

Prisoner name: Frances Johnson.

Court and date of trial: 9 March 1820 [Bow Street Police Office].

Crime: Prisoner convicted as a rogue and a vagabond for an offence against the Lottery Act.

Initial sentence: Committed to the House of Correction until 24 June 1820 (six weeks).

Annotated: 'Write to Mr Birnie for the particulars of the case.' Nil.

Correspondence: Statements from James Ellis and Thomas Amsden of the Police Office, Bow Street patrol. A letter from Legrew Hesse of the Lottery Office, prosecutor, stating that Johnson has served nearly the whole of her sentence and should be pardoned.
