Description

Prisoner name: Thomas Johnson.

Court and date of trial: Flint Lent Assizes 1820.

Crime: Stealing a carter's frock from a draper in Holywell [Flintshire].

Initial sentence: Two years' imprisonment.

Annotated: To be pardoned; remission prepared June 1821.

Petitioner(s): John Douglas, Sheriff of Flintshire.

Grounds for clemency: A young man; conduct exemplary - taught prisoner to read; former employer would have him back; is a stranger in this region.

Additional Information: In Flint Castle.
