Description

Recommendation for the mitigation of sentence for selected prisoners on board the hulk York.

Prisoner details: John Robinson, aged 24, convicted at Taunton [Somerset] on 3 April 1817 of felony.

Prisoner details: Charles Andrews, aged 34, convicted at Winchester [Hampshire] on 14 July 1817 of grand larceny.

Prisoner details: Joseph Young, aged 17, convicted at Winchester [Hampshire] on 14 July 1817 of felony.

Prisoner details: William Young, aged 19, convicted at Winchester [Hampshire] on 14 July 1817 of felony.

Prisoner details: Stephen Bendall, aged 50, convicted at Winchester [Hampshire] on 14 July 1817 of felony.

Prisoner details: George Lock, aged 34, convicted at Winchester [Hampshire] on 14 July 1817 of felony.

Prisoner details: George Tessell, aged 22, convicted at Horsham [Sussex] on 14 July 1817 of grand larceny.

Prisoner details: William Hayler, aged 24, convicted at Horsham [Sussex] on 14 July 1817 of grand larceny.

All sentenced to seven years [transportation].

Grounds for clemency: Orderly and uniform good conduct; chosen by the Captain as 12 best behaved men in the hulk.
