Incorporated under Yorkshire Dales Railway (Skipton to Grassington) Act 6th August 1897. Under Agreement dated 5th July 1897 scheduled to Act, railway was worked by Midland Railway Company. Under Midland Railway Company Preliminary Absorption Scheme 1922 dated 29th December 1922, Yorkshire Dales Railway Company was transferred to and absorbed by Midland Railway Company as from 1st January 1922. Midland Railway Company became part of London Midland & Scottish Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under North Western, Midland & West Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
