Incorporated under act of 21st July 1845. Under Furness Railway Act of 16th July 1866, Whitehaven & Furness Junction Railway Company was amalgamated with Furness Railway Company. Furness Railway Company became part of London Midland and Scottish Railway Company as from 1st January 1923 under North Western, Midland and West Scottish Group Amlagamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
