Incorporated under act of 21st June 1836 as Birmingham, Bristol and Thames Junction Railway Company. Name was changed to West London Railway Company under act of 23rd July 1840. Company became vested in Great Western and London and North Western railway companies jointly under West London Railway Act of 21st July 1854, but proprietors met until March 1869 and Board of Directors until January 1870. West London Railway Company, which was never legally dissolved, passed to British Transport Commission under Transport Act, 1947.
