Incorporated under their act of 28th August 1853 and leased to Great Western and West Midland railway companies under Great Western Railway (Lightmoor and Coalbrookdale etc.) Act 1st August 1861. West Midland Railway Company was amalgamated with Great Western Railway Company as from 1st August 1863 by Great Western Railway (West Midland Railway) Amalgamation Act of 13th July 1863. Wellington and Severn Junction Railway Company was vested in Great Western Railway as from 1st July 1892 by Great Western Railway Act of 28th June 1892.
