Incorporated by act of 16th July 1866. Under act of 21st July 1879, company was leased to Great Eastern Railway Company for 999 years from 1st March 1880. Undertaking was vested in Great Eastern Railway Company under act of 1897. Great Eastern Railway Company became part of London and North Eastern Railway Company from 1st January 1923 under North Eastern, Eastern and East Scottish Group Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 30th December 1922.
