Incorporated under Stonehouse Pool Improvement Act of 1876. First meeting recorded is that held on 27th November 1879 and minutes of 15th February 1909 record approval for Bill for transfer of company to London & South Western Railway Company. Transfer took place as from 31st December 1909, under Section 36, and scheduled Agreement to London & South Western Railway Act of 16th August 1909. London & South Western Railway became part of Southern Railway from 1st January 1923 under Railways (Southern Group) Amalgamation Scheme 1922 dated 22nd December 1922.
