Folios 289-290: Francis Pickmore, HMS Ramillies, Carlisle Bay. Barbados. States having reason to suppose that the Honourable Rear Admiral Sir Alexander Cochrane will have sent the sentence of a Court Martial at which he presided on 10 June 1808for the trial of William Norman a Seaman of HMS Jason for Theft. Reports the sentence of the Court Martial (was for the Prisoner to receive three dozen lashes on board HMS Jason) was not put in execution because the Commander in Chief refused to give Captain Thomas John Cochrane a copy of the Court Martial and the ship sailed without punishment being inflicted.
