Folios 260-261: John Phillimore, Orton, Atherstone, Warwickshire. Reply to letter dated 11 March 1808. He informs that several boats were very active in coming off to HMS Bellette [HMS Belette] on 8 January 1808 when she was on the Basborough Lane - & among the [?] were two fishing boats (to the best of his recollection the same as named in the Petition) who remained with us to render any assistance that might be wanted & that when we were afloat (having unshipped our Rudder) he made use of them to steer us into Yarmouth Roads. He will send copies of the Certificates he issued on that occasion - which he has not in the Country with him. He returns the enclosures [not present].
