Description

Folios 256-257: John Phillimore, 26 Upper Gower Street. Covering letter for the enclosed letter respecting the Masters of the Merchant Vessels under his Convoy at Gottenburg - He is sorry that owing to some great mistake in the hurry of quitting HMS Bellette [HMS Belette] that it has never been sent before.

Folios 258-259: enclosure with folios 256-257. Letter dated 9 June 1808 by John Phillimore, HMS Bellette [HMS Belette], Yarmouth Roads, to the Admiralty. Report on the Convoy that left Flemish Roads Gottenburg on 23 December 1807 - Arriving on 25 January 1808. [Three sides - Mentions:-] James Young - Aurora, William Ward - Adonis, Edward Herbert - Betsey, James Bernie - Mars, William Dow - Hector, Joseph Oxley - Bremen Packet & Henry [Wronyham?] - Marid ([Masters - Merchant Ships)] - Reports their bad behaviour.
