Description (What the record is about)

Folios 249-250: Robert Pettet, HMS Briseis, Harwich. Reports his arrival at this Port with the Isabella of Newcastle who had parted from her Convoy in a Gale on 7 December 1808. Reports he came across her on 10 December 1808 with much damage, little water and an exhausted crew having fought off Danish Privateer. He put an Officer and some men on board to assist and took her in tow and with difficulty brought her into this Port.
Folio 251: enclosure with folios 249-250. Defects report dated 15 December 1808 of HMS Briseis, Robert Pettet Esq,Commander.
