Folios 193-194: Shuldham Peard, [Sea Fencibles], Fowey. Reply to letter dated 14 July 1808 with their command to enquire into the particular circumstances of the case of John Stephens of this place, who has petitioned to receive the benefit of Greenwich Hospital on account of his age and long service in the Navy. [Gives details of his injuries]. He appears to be about 76 years old. He has a very strong Certificate from Admiral g Bower when he Commanded HMS Canada. He has no hesitation in assuring them that he appears a very fit object for their consideration.

Statement of the Service of John Stevens in HMS Standard and that he is not found on the Books of HMS Dublin; making in the whole. Nine Years, Eleven Months; one week and two days.
