Folios 189-190: Joseph Pearce, HMS Vulture, Sheerness. States Mr James Overy, Purser of HMS Vulture having served under his Command for 10 months, & having conducted himself in a manner highly creditable to himself & to his satisfaction; & in consequence of his long service (since 1795) without attaining a higher rate than a Sloop as Purser. He recommends his for promotion.
