Folios 431-432: John Phillimore, HMS Bellette, off Copenhagen. Encloses a letter [not present] received from Mr Shaw, Acting Lieutenant, who came into HMS Bellette on 11 May 1907 with a strong recommendation from Captain Ball of HMS Zealand, with whom he had served as Acting Lieutenant, Master's Mate and Midshipman for over 2 years. John Skinner has been Acting Carpenter since 9 March 1807 and has served 2 years as Carpenter's Mate in HMS Hecate, and Carpenter's Mate of HMS Bellette since she was put into commission until 9 March 1807 when he was made Acting Carpetner by Commodore Owen. Recommneds him.
