Folios 365-366: Charles Vinicombe Penrose, Sea Fencibles, Padstow. Encloses the report of boats within his district. Except at the port of St Ives, the seine boats mentioned are manned for the fishery for about 2 months in the summer by labourers and handy craftsmen of all descriptions. At St Ives they are manned by fishermen. Padstow and St Ives are the only places in the district where artificers could be found to equip the seine boats as gun boats.
