Folios 351-352: Charles Pelly, Crayford, Kent. He has received a letter from James Puckinghorne who served nearly 4 years under him in HMS Beaver and HMS Mercury, informing him he has been appointed Acting Lieutenant of HMS Cleopatra by Vice Admiral Berkley and has sent up his acting order and passing certificate asking for confirmation of his appointment, He requested that he would report his conduct when under his command. Recommends his intrepidity in the boats of HMS Beaver when he succeeded in retaking the English merchant ship British Tar in the River Wesel and in retaking the Duncomb of Hull when the Atalante Dutch National brig was captured as stated in Captain Hardinge's letter to Admiral Thornborough. Recommends his uniformly good conduct.
