Folios 347-348: Charles Pelly, HMS Mercury, Spithead. Thomas Hogan, a Seaman belonging to HMS Mercury, has delivered himself up as a Deserter from HMS Queen where he went by the name of Thomas Ryan. Encloses his request to be admitted to HM Royal Proclamation.
Folios 349-350: enclosure with folios 347-348. Letter dated 17 June 1807 from Thomas Hogan, HMS Mercury, Spithead. He deserted from HMS Queen in August 1804. Seeing HM Proclamation pardoning deserters who returned to their ships he immediately gave himself up to Lieutenant Gu[..] the commanding officer on board HMS Mercury. He went by the name of Thomas Ryan on board HMS Queen.
