Folios 247-248: Jospeh Pearce, HMS Vulture, Humber. Last evening when he was returning from cruising between Flamborough Head and the Dogger Bank by order of Captain Rye of HMS Providence, he fell in, off the Spurn, with the Prince Frederick yacht, presented some time ago by His Majesty to the King of Denmark. She was in the charge of William Patterson, late Master of the Hope brig of Dundee which was captured on her voyage to Riga on 26 October [1807] by standing too near the Castle of Cronenberg. He sailed from Copenhagen on 22 [November 1807] with a pass from the Danish Court of Admiralty which he encloses [not present] permitting him to proceed to England and deliver the yacht to the Admiralty. Fearing her crew would try to evade HM service whenever the vessel anchored at a Britsh port he took out all those that appeared useful for service, and replaced them with an Officer and men from HMS Vulture. She is now at anchor in Grimsby Roads and he will detain her there until further orders.
