Folios 217-218: Joseph Pearce, HMS Vulture, Humber. States the case of Caleb Breese, 23, born at Lynn in Norfolk, who had been about 5 months at sea in the Minerva brig of Hull on a voyage to the Northern Fishery, from which he was impressed at Lerwick in Shetland by HMS Kite. He was sent to HMS Vulture from HMS Zealand as an Ordinary Seman and a volunteer, but has not received the Bounty.
Folios 219-220: enclosure with folios 217-218. Letter dated 4 September 1807 from John Breese, Lynn, to William Wellesley Pole. Several weeks ago he wrote to the Admiralty about his son Caleb Breese who was pressed off Shetland out of the Minerva Greenland ship belonging to Hull and is now on board HMS Vulture in Grimsby Roads. He certified that he was never a seafaring man and when he was impressed he was merely a cooper to the ship, to which trade he had been apprenticed. Asks for him to be released.
